A Flake on my Snow-Mitt

I am having fun making shaped cards lately--and this is a new one--a little mitt! It folds at the top--so it's so simple, and can still fit nicely in an envie. I added some patterned paper trim at the top. Then added some cute mulberry diecut trees from Easy Craft along with a red skeleton leave from Easy Craft--then Ms. Snowlady from the Snowheads digital stamp set by Digi Kitty! Added a bit of stickles after coloring with the copics. The patterned paper is Basic Grey and the red textured is DCWV!
Easy Craft is sponsoring Digi Kitty's Challenge this week and they are giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to their store to shop their paper flowers, awesome mulberry products, embellishments, and more! Their stuff is so inexpensive and come with alot in a package!

Friends

Here is my last challenge this month for Blessed Scraps Yahoo group. Christi challenged us to create a best friends card! I made a purse card (created the purse template cutting file) using my Pazzles Inspiration and Bazill green cardstock. Then I added pink patterned paper from K and Companyfor the handle and polka dots. Then I added the Girls Want to Have Fun stamp set by Digi Kitty--I just printed two of the little Eloise girls and then put them holding hands! This was so fun to do! I can't wait to send this to my best friend, my sister! My baby niece, Amelie is only 17 mths and her baby sister Eloise is coming first week of December--I know they will be best friends too--so this card will be included to Ame and Eloise too--double meaning!

Gobble till you Wobble!

One our our challenges this month at Blessed Scraps was to make a paper piecing of a Turkey! So I used my digi stamp Turkey-from Digi Kitty-and made him into a cute place setting! If you have not tried paper piecing with a stamped image--it is so easy! You just simply print each piece on the paper you want, cut, and assemble back the image!
I made the turkey and gently tacked him (with removable zots) to a glass dome, then set copper vintage wire angel hair from Germany under-neath (the bird in nest thought). I am going to put 4 of these on each upturned saucer on each of my place settings! So cheap and so cute! I re-use the glass domes so it's perfect for me. Then the turkey can go a card or scrapbook page later!
So gobble till you wobble--and you don't even have to eat the turkey!

Yoo Hoo Peppermints for You!

This adorable little tag is made for Handfull of Stamps challenge. The challenge was to use FOOD or DRINk stamps, but I missed that one--the new challenge is a Holiday card--so I combined the two challenges. I used Digi Kitty's Parisian sweets for the lollipops, and cupcake , Yoo Hoo from Owl Sayings by Digi Kitty and Simple Doodle's peppermint owl. I wanted to use one of her stamps since it is her challenge--always a nice gesture! isn't he a hoot?

My favorite recipe is Peppermint Pretzel Rods! All you do is melt white chocolate, dip the pretzel rods in, then roll the coated pretzel rod in crushed peppermints! DELCIOUS with hot cocoa!

My Heart's a Flutter in Hog Heaven!!

Oink, Oink! Well today my heart's fluttering over this cute little piggy! He's pigging out on bluberry and mud shortcake, topped with a delicious blueberry cupcake! Yum, Yum--he's in Hog Heaven!!
The challenge today is Hybrid Stamping from Digi Kitty! You have to use a Digi Kitty digital stamp with a traditional rubber stamp! I used Digi Kitty's Hog Heaven stamp and a winged heart stamp from 123 Stitch! I used the traditional winged heart stamp to stamp my bacground, and also to add wings to the little pig!
I used my copics to color in the pig, the cupcake, and the blueberry shortcake. I then used my Studio G stickles to add some glitz to the shortcake. I finished off with Bazzill testured pink cardstock, a frame from RetroCafe in blue, and navy blue ribbon!
Hurry over to Digi Kitty to play this week's challenge and you have a chance to win 4 stamps (both traditional and digital)...there's also some GREAT FREEBIES over there too to snag!

Wired up Mr. Twigs!

On our Yahoo Group, Blessed Scaps--we had the challenge to use WIRE on a card. I had to really think about this one--because I don't use actual wire--maybe a wired ribbon or wired tinsel--but actual wire! So....I was at Ross the other day and found this beautiful wired trim--so I cut it, twisted it, and voila!
The digi stamp is Mr. Twigs from Digi Kitty. The rest is paper flowers all from Prima, red German dresden trim from Digi Kitty's Etsy shop, copic markers used to color the image, and velvet leaves from Prima. I also used the texture snow from Duncan--it is almost like a gritty sandy textured paint--I just painted it on and then sprinkled it with white vintage German glass glitter.
I really liked making this card--because it just felt a bit elegant! Plus it was so easy to color in with the copics!
